AI & Assessment
Assessment that still works when students use AI.
AI tools can now complete many of the tasks teachers set. This course helps you find out which of your assessments are still reliable, and redesign the ones that are not.
Over six days in Ružomberok you test your own tasks with AI and rebuild three of them using methods with solid research behind them. You also agree with colleagues where AI belongs in marking and feedback. You go home with redesigned assessments, a draft school policy and the arguments to explain both.
The course is for secondary, VET and adult educators who set and mark work. It follows on well from AI Literacy+ and also works on its own.
AI & Assessment is a 6-day AI training course for teachers in Ružomberok, Slovakia, eligible for Erasmus+ KA1 funding as teacher training. See all our AI training courses for teachers.

Test your own assessments with AI and see which parts of a unit are most at risk.
Redesign tasks so they show how students think, using evidence of process, oral assessment and tasks tied to a local context.
Run comparative judgement on real student work with a simple paper method.
Use AI to draft feedback while keeping the final judgement yours.
Write a one-page school policy on AI and assessment that colleagues can apply.
Explain your changes to students, parents and colleagues, and answer the usual objections.
One problem, four steps
The week works on one problem from four angles, so every redesign is tested before you take it home.
Test
Day 1: you run your own tasks through AI tools and map where they are vulnerable.
Rebuild
Days 2–3: comparative judgement, evidence of process and oral assessment, each with the research behind it.
Decide
Day 4: where AI helps with feedback and marking, and where it should stay out.
Check
Days 5–6: colleagues who have not seen your work review it, then you present the final version.
How we teach
Our courses are built on learning by doing. Each one has 30 hours: 12 of theory and 18 of practice. After every theory session you go straight into an activity that puts it to use.
Hands-on throughout
Every idea is put into practice as soon as it is introduced, so you learn by doing.
Experiential learning
Project- and scenario-based work grounded in your real context, so what you learn transfers straight back to your practice.
Theory you can use
The theory hours cover the research behind each method, so you can explain your choices to colleagues and school leaders.
Learning with peers
Much of the work happens in small groups, with feedback from teachers who work in other schools and countries.
Six days, end to end
30 hours in total: 12 of theory and 18 of practice.
What you take home
Three redesigned assessments, reviewed by peers
A risk map of one of your units
A ready-to-use comparative-judgement method on paper
Your own rule for AI in marking, and ten reusable feedback comments
A one-page draft school policy and a note for parents
A plan to trial one redesign with your class
Certificate and what comes after

A LeanUP certificate listing your 30 contact hours, the split between theory and practice, the learning outcomes and how they map to DigCompEdu and the AILit Framework. You can quote it directly in your mobility report. Europass Mobility is issued to every participant.

Before you book
How much of the course is theory?
12 of the 30 hours. Every theory session is followed by practical work, and the programme shows the split for each day.
Do I need technical skills?
No. You need to be someone who sets and marks students’ work.
What should I bring?
One assessment task you would like to improve and, if your school allows it, a few anonymised student scripts. We can provide examples if you cannot.
Do AI detectors work?
Not reliably. They produce false positives, especially for students writing in a second language. The course shows you which kinds of evidence hold up.
Do you work with our students?
No. There are no school visits and no contact with minors, so no consent forms are needed.
Is it Erasmus+ fundable?
Yes, under KA1 staff mobility. Europass Mobility is issued to every participant.
